Biography
Alexander Perez is Director of Federal Affairs at The Normandy Group. As the newest member of the firm, develops and executes lobbying strategies, navigates legislative landscapes, and secures federal support for
clients. Alexander excels in building relationships with policymakers and advancing client interests through targeted advocacy.
Alexander began his political career by volunteering for political campaigns in New York and New Jersey. He interned with Congressman Joe Garcia (FL) and quickly transitioned to a full-
time role as the constituent relations director in Key West, FL. He then joined Senator Menendez (NJ) on Capitol Hill, where he played a key role in bipartisan legislative efforts.
After leaving Capitol Hill, Alexander worked for David Turch and Associates as a federal lobbyist. He represented cities, counties, airports, and defense clients, successfully securing over $20 million for clients through earmarks, grants, and new contract procurement. His extensive experience includes working with the Department of Transportation, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Defense, Department of Justice and many other federal agencies.
Alexander later joined the Association of American Universities, where he represented 69 of our nation’s leading research universities. He advocated for higher education policy, research
funding, innovation and competitiveness, science and technology policy, immigration reform, infrastructure investment, and regulatory reform. He provided advocacy, policy development, and congressional engagement support to member institutions.
Alexander graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor’s degree in Diplomacy and International Relations.
